Local Actions:

I Have My Ballot – Who Shall I Vote for on My School Board?

Envelope for ballot return
School boards have never been more important!

Action: Support good candidates. Use this document compiled by an Olympia Indivisible volunteer working with Washington STOP Moms for Liberty to help protect inclusive public education by researching school board candidates statewide.

  • Thurston PRIMARY School Board Candidates to avoid candidates (identified by red flags) who have ties to groups which promote pro-censorship, anti-public school views, who have independently expressed such views, whose campaigns are conspicuously silent on the need for inclusivity, or whose previous public service demonstrates lack of transparency.

Federal Actions:

Advocate on Behalf of Our Service Members Facing Religious Discrimination

Normandy American Cemetery
Christian nationalist Rep. Mike Turner introduced an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for FY 2024 that would in effect SHUT DOWN the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) by making it ILLEGAL for members of the military to even communicate with MRFF! That amendment was PASSED by the House Armed Services Committee (sneakily inserted into a large package of amendments to dupe all the Democrats into voting for it) and became part of the House version of the NDAA.

The whole house has now passed the bill with Turner’s despicable, vindictive, and unconstitutional amendment in it!!!

The text of Turner’s amendment, which, if it is not removed by the Conference Committee and remains in the final bill, will obliterate MRFF’s ability to protect and advocate on behalf of our service members facing religious discrimination, harassment, and aggressive proselytizing.

We do not yet know who the members of the Conference Committee are going to be, which is why we are imploring EVERYONE here to send MRFF’s letter to their representative and senators to ensure that as many members as possible see it.

Action: Fill out this form which sends one letter to your representatives and senators urging removal of Christian Nationalist Rep. Turner's blatantly unconstitutional NDAA amendment, and sends a copy to the Senate Armed Services Committee.

Protect Reproductive Rights by Defending Democracy in Ohio

Phone Bank for Ohio Special Election
On August 8th, Ohio will hold a special election that presents a remarkable opportunity to influence the political landscape. This election will profoundly impact the fate of reproductive rights in Ohio.

Voters will have the power to alter the process for amending the state constitution. "Issue 1," threatens the principle of majority rule by requiring future amendments to receive 60% support to pass. You can help unite, mobilize, and protect women's rights and ensure their autonomy over their bodies.

Women’s March Action is sponsoring phone banking on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3-5pm (PDT)/6-8pm(EDT) up until August 2nd.
WMA is committed to elevating women's political power and empowering activists to be catalysts for change. Let's show the world that 2023 is a year of action and progress!
