WA State Actions:

​Reject Unwarranted Petitions

​From our friends at Indivisible Eastside

Evergreen State voters are increasingly encountering petitioners out in public. They’re working ferry lines, store entrances, and large events, hoping to score signatures for half-a-dozen schemes to defund Washington’s essential public services and wreck government. These schemes are backed by a wealthy Republican donor. 

Action: If you see signature gatherers when you’re out and about, Decline to Sign!

• I‑2109: Repeal the capital gains tax on the wealthy
• I‑2117: Repeal the state’s cap and invest system
• I‑2111: Prohibit the levying of any income taxes
• I‑2124: Sabotage the state’s new long term care system
• I‑2113: Allow dangerous police pursuits to resume
• I‑2081: Implement a “parental notification” scheme for school curricula

Federal Actions:

Universal Healthcare for States

One stumbling block on the way to Universal Healthcare in WA is the federal laws for Medicare. We need to change the law to allow states to provide Medicare for All coverage. 

Whole Washington collaborated with Healthcare For All - WA and One Payer States on this one-click action in support of Ro Khanna's State-Based Universal Health Care Act of 2023 (SBUHCA, 2023). With your help we can remove a major barrier to the state-based single-payer healthcare strategy.

Drinks and Democracy, Every Saturday at 5:30

Every Saturday, weather permitting, Lisa (co-founder of OI) invites OIympia Indivisible members to her cozy back patio in SE Olympia for a Drinks and Democracy Happy Hour! From 5:30 to 6:30pm, come enjoy a signature house drink on a democratic theme. Non-alcoholic beverages will be on hand as well.

Action Cafe 2023, Every Monday at Noon

OI members meet, make new friends, and take actions together. Every Cafe comes with a side order of live music and a heapin’ helpin’ of good cheer!

Cafe patrons receive an email on Sunday with a sneak-peek at what we'll do at the cafe the next day. On Monday morning, Chef Lisa will send you a pdf "Menu" which has links to the actions we'll take together at the Cafe.
