Olympia Indivisible Core Values

Olympia Indivisible is united by a commitment to the principles of fairness, inclusion, tolerance and a just society for all, through non-violent civic engagement, political involvement, and consistent pressure on elected officials.

Human Rights
  • Universal human rights and democratically elected governments are essential for the freedom of all people.
  • Affordable housing and food security are basic human rights.
  • All people deserve to live safely without government, police, or community harassment.

Governance
  • A democratically elected government that is transparent, accountable, and responsive best serves the people of this country.
  • We deserve a democracy in which each of us is represented and has a voice — and a government that works for every American, not just the wealthy few. Corporations are not people and money is not speech.
  • A person's right to vote is foundational. Voting must be fair, verifiable, and secure in all communities. Laws and policies should work to increase access to and participation in democratic elections.
  • Religion and government must be separate.

Environment
  • The environmental sustainability of our planet is vital and the key to peace and security for all.

Health Care
  • Access to affordable health care is a universal right.
  • People have the right to bodily autonomy and to pursue their healthcare and reproductive choices without fear of criminalization or penalty.

Economy
  • All Americans deserve the opportunity to work for living-wage employment, receive job training, and have safe working conditions.
  • We value and support the right of all workers to unionize and engage in collective bargaining.
  • Support for small businesses is essential for new job creation.
  • Banking and financial institution regulation is essential for protecting consumers.
  • Access to high-speed broadband connectivity is essential to ensuring economic opportunity in urban and rural America.
  • Our economy must be sustainable for our community, cultures, and the planet.

Civil Rights
  • All people deserve equal rights protections with freedom from discrimination under the law. Systemic structures and individual acts denying civil rights of people must be challenged.

Education
  • All children deserve a safe, inclusive school environment and access to public schools which are equitable, high-quality, and offer age appropriate, fact-based instruction.
  • Censoring books, ideas, and information is antithetical to the ideals of freedom.

Community
  • We value protecting the vulnerable in our community through outreach, care, and assistance programs.
  • We strongly support efforts to end gun violence.
