Weekly Call To Action - December 25, 2022

12/24/2022

Quote of the Week:

We may celebrate different holidays, we may sing different songs or say different prayers, but our shared American values endure season after season. —Dr. Jill Biden

Seasons Greetings from the CTA Team

The sun rising over a snow covered field surrounded by trees on the left and mountains on the right.

This is the time of year for Peace and Joy. Winter Solstice has passed and each day will bring more light. Whatever you celebrate, we are with you in spirit. Peace be with you.

As 2022 closes out, we want to thank all of you Call to Action takers for your advocacy and activism. You are our inspiration!

Action: Enjoy time with your family and friends.

Let’s Get Together:

Holiday Good Cheer!

Cheeseboard with olives, grapes, cheese, crackers, baguette and a glass of wine.

Mark your calendars and save the dates! Once again, Olympia Indivisible co-founder Lisa Ornstein will be hosting holiday gatherings in her cozy living room in SE Olympia. Save the dates, pick one, RSVP, and come have a glass of cheer!

When: Tuesday, Dec. 27 AND Thursday, Dec. 29, 3-6pm. Drop in and out any time between 3 and 6pm on these two dates.

Where: Lisa’s home in SE Olympia. RSVP to: [email protected] and let Lisa know which date you want to drop by. Lisa will get back to you with address details.

Covid Protocol: You must be up to date on COVID vaccine, be in good health, and wear a mask in the living room (food and drink will be on hand in the harvest kitchen where you can unmask and feast!).

On the Program: Food, drink, good cheer, good conversation.

Also: if you are up for this, we’ll be providing materials for you to make a DIY yard or window sign to put up the first week of January 2023 in remembrance of January 6th (e.g., “ January 6: Never Forget; Never Again”; “Remember January 6th–Because Insurrection is Anti-American”; or, “January 6: Remember and Protect Democracy”).

Action Cafe 2023,
Every Monday at Noon

Action Cafe Menu on a black background.

Chef Lisa and the Action Cafe crew are closed for the holidays, but we’ll be back on January 2nd! So save the date and come to Olympia Indivisible's Action Cafe! The Cafe is a weekly Monday Zoom noon-hour gathering where OI members meet, make new friends, and take actions together. Every Cafe comes with a side order of live music and a heapin’ helpin’ of good cheer!

Cafe patrons receive an email on Sunday with a sneak-peek at what we'll do at the cafe the next day. On Monday morning, Chef Lisa will send you a pdf "Menu" which has links to the actions we'll take together at the Cafe.
Register HERE. We will send you a Zoom link and tomorrow morning, Chef Lisa will send your "menu."

Have You Scheduled This Event?

January 6th Insurrection:
Remembrance for 2021
Pro-Democracy, Progressive Activism for 2023

The date Friday, Jan. 6, 2023 on the American Flag with the time of 5 to 6 pm.

On Friday, January 6, 2023, from 5-6pm, join Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal, Washington Deputy Majority Leader Senator Manka Dhingra, and Indivisible members and allies across the state for an uplifting, action-focused January 6th commemorative Zoom event.

Here's what to expect:

  • a remembrance of the 2021 insurrection,
  • an introduction by Congresswoman Jayapal and Senator Dhingra to the 2023 federal Congressional and Washington Legislative landscapes: the balance of power at play, priorities of progressive, pro-democracy members, what will and won't be possible in 2023, and how we can support pro-democracy, progressive initiatives,
  • and because we're all about action, information about two pro-democracy power tools for the 2023 Congressional and WA Legislative sessions: Indivisible Truth Brigade and Take Action Network.

Action: Register here to attend!
