Urge Congress to Pass Supreme Court Ethics Bill

Gavel and block with Code of Ethics name plate

The ethics bill introduced by Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., and Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., would help restore the integrity of the U.S. Supreme Court by implementing ethical standards that ensure transparency and accountability.

Recent reports of unethical conduct by Supreme Court justices highlight the urgent need for court reform. The justices should be bound by the same ethical standards as lower court judges.

Congress must restore integrity to the court, which has suffered tremendously from, among other things, Clarence Thomas’ repeated and unapologetic disregard for basic ethical standards. Americans must know that their Supreme Court justices are not receiving luxurious gifts under the table from donors with political agendas or ruling on cases that involve their own spouses.

Justices like Thomas will continue to abuse lax rules until Congress takes meaningful action. Thank you for your time — and for supporting this important bill.

Action: Urge our Members of Congress to pass Supreme Court ethics bill
