Wayne Fournier, Thurston County Commissioner District 4
As a professional firefighter, I know that public safety includes law enforcement as well as emergency systems and infrastructure, adequate housing and support services for people in crisis, behavioral health and chemical dependency treatment, and robust environmental and public health protections. I believe in preserving and enhancing the irreplaceable natural places of our county while providing opportunities for sustainable growth. I am committed to promoting economic development by leveraging our cultural assets and supporting local creativity and entrepreneurs.

Environmental stewardship is more than a responsibility; it's a legacy for our youth. I'm resolved to successfully execute Thurston County's Climate Mitigation Plan, addressing the pressing issue of climate change, and advocating for sustainable practices. Promoting economic opportunity, I will support small businesses and organized labor, nurturing the backbone of our local economy.

Port of Olympia Candidates
Jasmine Vasavada, Port of Olympia Commissioner District 1
The Port of Olympia is the only public entity in Thurston County devoted to economic development. I know that together, we can collaborate with regional partners and experts to ensure the Port of Olympia remains a vibrant, healthy, and diverse place to live and do business. I’ve devoted my life and career to ensuring our communities thrive and I will continue to work with this same determination and dedication as a Port Commissioner!

With collaboration and responsible environmental stewardship, we can implement proactive programs that help tackle the climate crisis and protect our land and waterways. I will integrate environmental policies and considerations into all aspects of the Port’s strategic planning and business decision-making. My goal is to strengthen the integrity and transparency of the public contracting process and the competitive nature of public procurement, as well as promote the efficient and transparent use of Port resources.
