Olympia Indivisible Strategic Plan 2022:
Protecting Democracy, Winning Elections
In January and February of 2022, the Olympia Indivisible Steering Committee, in collaboration with the OI Leadership Team, worked to create a strategic plan for 2022. This plan was presented to the Olympia Indivisible membership at our March 26, 2022 All-Member Meeting.
The planning process focused on three principle areas:
- Updating Olympia Indivisible’s mission, scope, and principles
- Identifying and articulating key goals, objectives, and strategies
- Updating and revising our list of teams to meet our present needs and strategically focus our energies
Mission, Scope and Principles
Olympia Indivisible, founded on January 3, 2017, is a Washington chapter of the national Indivisible movement. We are a 100% volunteer grassroots team-powered community in Congressional District 10.

- 2022 is a midterm elections year
- Olympia Indivisible is currently working with a smaller number of actively engaged members and team leads
In addition, Olympia Indivisible will continue to monitor and hold accountable our county, state, and federal representatives. Olympia Indivisible will likewise continue to build coalitions with local, statewide, and national Indivisible organizations and groups who share our values.

- Push back against the erosion of democratic institutions and civil rights
- Support pro-democracy representation
Objectives and Strategies
Objectives are listed below. Those in bold are key for 2022. Strategies are indented below their respective objective.
- Focus our limited bandwidth to build progressive power by targeting key winnable elections
- Target races with close progressive control, or small conservative control - e.g., LD22 and CD8
- Provide early candidate endorsements and strong campaign support
- Use close-to-home issues to increase participation, membership, and local collaborations
- Energize and inspire the OI membership so they are engaged as Democracy protectors.
- Increase participation by providing activities with low barriers to entry
- Build coalitions with other activists and groups who share our interests
- Support issues of shared concern or interest
- Build relationships with other Washington Indivisible Network
- Advocate with our elected representatives on key OI issues
- Where feasible, promote voter registration and voter participation locally and in key swing states
