Olympia Indivisible endorses candidates to champion progressive values

6/19/2020

Olympia, WA—Olympia Indivisible (OI) has endorsed progressive primary candidates in federal, state, and county races. OI will now coordinate support and volunteers for campaigns of endorsed candidates. The following candidates received a majority of votes from OI members.

Federal
  • Beth Doglio - Congressional District 10 Representative

Washington State
  • Sam Hunt - State Senator District 22
  • Laurie Dolan - Representative District 22 Position 1
  • Jessica Bateman - Representative District 22 Position 2

Thurston County
  • Carolina Mejia - Commissioner District 1
  • Michael Steadman - Commissioner District 2
  • Christopher Stearns - PUD Commissioner
  • Sharonda Amamilo - Superior Court Judge

Olympia Indivisible is also providing a valuable resource to progressive primary voters. As election season continues, OI will post information about candidates and initiatives on its public-facing website and Facebook page as a voting guide.

Olympia Indivisible (OI) is a 700-members-strong grassroots advocacy group. OI's commitment to transparency and democratic process sets it apart. OI:
  • Evaluated candidates across 18 shared values.
  • Presented evaluations at an all-member meeting.
  • Ensured every member had an opportunity to vote.

“Never has it been more essential for citizens to actively participate in defense of our nation’s democracy and its democratic institutions,” said OI Co-Founder Lisa Ornstein. After the primaries, OI may vote on an endorsement for candidates who move on to the general election.
