Be a Peach, Help the Runoff Races in Georgia
Two More Dems for the US Senate?
Consider what two more Dems on the US Senate would mean! The two runoff US Senate races in Georgia need our help to get out the vote for Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock. Sad truth, Democrats have a terrible record about turning out to vote in runoff elections. This is why these campaigns need our help. There are opportunities to phone bank and write postcards.

Enough is Enough
Emily Murphy, the General Services (GSA) administrator responsible for authorizing President-elect Biden’s transition process, is refusing to acknowledge that he has won the election. Until she does, she is preventing the Biden team from beginning the crucial transition work that is required by law. Funding for office space, access to government officials and most importantly access to the President’s daily security briefings are crucial in order to protect our country in the middle of a Pandemic and social upheaval.
This is an unprecedented refusal to follow the law and the norms of our democracy. Enough is enough. You can read more about it here:
Action: Call our members of Congress to hold hearings and subpoena Emily Murphy THIS WEEK and demand that she do her job or resign.
Script: My name is _______. I am calling Senator/Congressman _____ to hold hearings THIS WEEK to demand that GSA Administrator Emily Murphy immediately acknowledge that President Elect Biden has won the election and authorize his transition team to begin their crucial work. Enough is Enough!

League of Women Voters of Thurston County RAP Letter
Hearing Date and Time and Comments (register to testify before 12/1/20 4:00 pm)
Action: Send an email to both the Board of County Commissioners (BoCC) and the Planning Commission by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1, 2020.
Subject: Docket Item CP-11 Recycled Asphalt (RAP)
I support The League of Women Voters of Thurston County’s positions stated in their letter to the BoCC on November 4, 2020. I am asking you to reject the Docket Item CP-11 Recycled Asphalt that is up for a public hearing on 12/1/2020. There is no science that shows asphalt recycling should occur in the fragile Nisqually ecosystem.

New Contact Info for the Call to Action
I have been the main contact for the Call to Action for the last four years. People with questions or comments simply replied to the Call, which went to my Indivisible email. I am stepping away and that will no longer be the case. Going forward if you need to contact the Call to Action team, use this address: OICTATeam@gmail.com. (A link can also be found on the Call to Action page of the OI website.)
I have also stepped down from the OI Steering Committee. If you need to contact the Steering Committee, that can be done here:
I will likely be checking my Indivisible email account less frequently.
We won – good job everybody! There will be a lot of work to do over the next four years to strengthen our democracy and our community and I am certain you all can help OI contribute to both!
