What’s It Going To Take To Stand Up to Trump’s Corruption?
As calls for Impeachment Hearings grow, there is still doubt among our Members of Congress to call for an Impeachment Inquiry. This is exactly what Trump wants. He has learned to avoid accountability through stonewalling, lying, tying things up in court, and it is working. Although the House Judiciary Committee is holding hearings, they appear weak and unorganized. They need the power and credibility of an actual Impeachment Inquiry.
From Oregon Indivisible: Not only does the Mueller Report provide ample evidence to begin an Impeachment Inquiry, this President continues to act in ways that corrupt the Presidency.
Just since May he as committed 4 more impeachable offenses:
So there it is. What will it take to have the courage and resolve to take a stand against this continued corruption? Yes, there are political risks to beginning the process, but there are equal risks to doing nothing. An inquiry, done right, will clearly put the facts before the voters.
How do we persuade our Members of Congress to act? Call them this week and ask where they stand on starting an Impeachment Inquiry.
My name is _____________. I live in District 10 and am a member of Olympia Indivisible. I would like to know where Senator/Congressman ___________ stands on beginning an Impeachment Inquiry.
(listen and respond with other questions you might have)
Finish your call with:
“I am very concerned with the cost of inaction. Not only does the Mueller Report establish ample evidence to begin an Inquiry, this President continues to commit more and more acts of obstruction and corruption. The House needs the power and credibility of an actual Impeachment Inquiry. What is happening right now is not working.”

Stop Funding Trump’s Deportation Machine
This week, the House will vote on a bill to provide additional funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The Senate will vote on a separate bill which contains nearly $5 billion for DHS. This money can be used by Trump to expand his detention and deportation machine.
We are opposed to the Trump administration’s inhumane policies on immigration. Only Congress has the power to appropriate money. We want our Members of Congress to use their votes to defund this Hate Campaign and reduce funding for both Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
ACTION: Call Congressman Denny Heck (360) 459-8514 and ask him to vote “no” on the additional funding for the Department of Homeland Security.
Script: My name is _______________, and I am a member of Olympia Indivisible. The House will be voting on a bill to provide the Department of Homeland Security with additional funding. This is money that may be used to expand Trump’s inhumane immigration policies. The Trump administration has used funding to terrorize communities and lock up families. I am asking Congressman Heck to vote “no” on this additional funding. Thank you.
ACTION: Call our Senators and ask them to vote “no” on the funding for the Department of Homeland Security.
Shout it to our MoCs, No War in Iran!
Trump seems more confused than ever, which is saying a lot. There is reason to believe he doesn’t want to go to war because it will cost him votes, but it is well known that John Bolton dreams of massive war in the Middle East and Mike Pompeo views it as the road to Paradise. They are in the president’s ear trying to convince him that he’ll look weak if he does not go to war. We must make it clear to our senators that they can prevent this from happening and that they must prevent it.
To that end, Tom Udall introduced Senate Bill: S.1039 - Prevention of Unconstitutional War with Iran Act of 2019 on April 4, 2019.
“This bill prohibits funds from being used for kinetic military operations against Iran unless Congress authorizes such an action, with various exceptions such as in response to an imminent threat. ("Kinetic military operations" typically refers to active military actions, in contrast to latent operations or cyberwarfare.)”
Currently this bill has 25 cosponsors, but neither of our senators are among them. We need to encourage them to cosponsor this bill and oppose any military action in Iran.
S.1039 - Prevention of Unconstitutional War with Iran Act of 2019
Tell all of them to make it clear to Trump that Congress will not authorize, support or fund any war.
