Ballots have dropped in Thurston County and will drop the rest of the state this week.
ACTION:
  1. Fill out your ballot as soon as you get it. Trump is trying to slow down and weaken the vote and we won’t let him. Use the OI endorsements info as a guide as well as the Washington Voters pamphlet.

  2. If you do not receive your ballot this week, check your voter registration for accuracy. And if you’ve moved or changed your name, please update your information. VoteWA.gov. If you’ve not received it by October 20, contact the County Auditor’s office for a replacement.
  3. Check with 3 friends and see if they got their ballot. Share our voter info resources with them and encourage them to vote right away. Have them contact 3 of their friends.

PROTECT THE VOTE
 
The “Protect the Results Coalition” will demand a peaceful transition following the results of the 2020 election. If Trump attempts to create a constitutional crisis, we will be prepared. Start by taking the pledge to respond, and let us know that you have taken the pledge. National Indivisible is providing a 3-part training series to help local groups prepare.
ACTION:  Take the pledge, and let us know that you took the pledge. Sign up for the 3-part host training, even if you are not a host, to learn more about preparing for a demonstration on November 4th.

More ACTIONS you can take:
  1. Take  the Indivisible and Choose Democracy pledges so as to to be notified of important actions you can take.
  2. Attend  organizing/mobilizing training sessions with Indivisible, Choose Democracy, Indivisible, or Flip The West Election Protection.
  3. Help build the blue wave (phonebank, text bank)  for Senate races and/or Biden-Harris in key states;
  4. Vote smart:
    1. Check your voter registration NOW to make sure you are registered (www.vote.wa.gov);
    2. Promptly and carefully complete your ballot as soon as you receive it;
    3. Put your completed ballot in the security sleeve and then in the return envelope;
    4. Sign and date the outside of the return envelope;
    5.  Promptly USE your local  BALLOT BOX to post your ballot, or mail ASAP; 
    6. Check back with www.vote.wa.gov two days after you post your ballot and click on “Ballot Status” to make sure your ballot was received and scanned without issues;
    7. If you do not receive your ballot by October 20, visit www.vote.wa.gov and click “Online Ballot” to print a replacement ballot. If you do not have a printer, call your county election office and request they mail you a replacement ballot; 
    8. Tell friends and family in Washington to do the same.
  5. Encourage everyone you are in touch with to be patient about election results. It will take weeks before all the votes are counted in all the states. In Washington, counties certify results 21 days after a General  Election and the Secretary of State certifies results no  later  than 30 days after a General Election.
  6. If you see what you believe to be fake news or misinformation about the election, contact Mary Hall at the Thurston County Election Office: mary.hall@co.thurston.wa.us She can work with Facebook, Twitter, Craigslist etc. to have it taken down.
  7. If you see tampering with ballot boxes or intimidation of voters trying to use ballot boxes, contact Mary Hall at the Thurston County Election Office: mary.hall@co.thurston.wa.us
  8. Petition Secretary of State Kim Wyman to make a public statement concerning the safety of mail-In ballots and commit to protecting the integrity of the electoral process. Link to model email HERE

SIGN WAVING
The coordinated campaign for Thurston County Democratic Candidates is hosting 6 sign waving days through the November 3rd elections.

We have multiple days, times and locations to choose from. We look forward to having you join us! 
  • Saturdays - Oct. 10, Oct. 17, Oct. 24, Oct 31
  • Monday, Nov. 2, Tuesday, Nov. 3
These events will range between 1.5-2 hours in length.

We will be socially distanced with a requirement for masks. We want to ensure you are safe and that the community is safe.
 
We will provide some signs but we ask that you bring your own if possible.

We will be waving for the following Candidates: 
  • Carolina Mejia for Thurston County Commissioner District 1,
  • Michael Steadman for Thurston County Commissioner District 2,
  • Jessica Bateman for LD 22,
  • State House Laurie Dolan for LD 22,
