DEFEAT TRUMP - Join One of the Olympia Indivisible Teams!
Monday we had our Olympia Indivisible “2020: It’s Up to US!” meeting. One hundred-seventy people attended and most signed up for one our teams, both new and old. It was inspiring! It was glorious! There is a lot of work to do between now and November but Indvisiblers are stepping up and being counted! We thank them.
If you missed the “OI: 2020: It’s Up to US!” meeting, it’s not too late to join one of the seven new teams or join one of the eight original teams. Our plan in 2020 is to save our democracy by taking back the presidency, flipping the Senate, protecting the House majority, and winning at the County and State level.
The new teams will extend our efforts into the key battleground states of Arizona and Michigan. About 140 people signed up to be on one of the new teams, and we need “all hands on deck” during this year leading up to the November elections. There is a team that is right for you and now is the hour.
Our original eight teams need new members as well. For example, the Action Team is recruiting new members who enjoy lively discussions and timely action. The weekly meetings of the Action Team produce the “Call to Action” for Olympia Indivisible members every Sunday. The Action Team has produced the Call to Action for three years and is going to the finish line.
Please take this opportunity to join one of the fifteen Olympia Indivisible teams. We need you!
ACTION: If you want to join a team, simply review the links below and send an email to: email@example.com - it will be forwarded to the appropriate team.
Information on the teams can be found at:

Thank Mary Louise Kelly for Reminding NPR, It’s Listeners and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, What Real Journalism Sounds Like.
For those of you who have not yet heard the interview of Secretary Pompeo by Mary Louise Kelly on NPR, Friday, January 24, 2020, here is the link:
We strongly encourage you to listen to the full 11 minute interview and to appreciate the strength of Kelly’s questioning and Pompeo’s belligerent tone as he is being challenged and not allowed to rely on the standard talking points. Kelly is showing the type of journalism that we rarely see these days, but need to see more from ALL journalism.
Some notable highlights are when Kelly points out that since Trump pulled out of the nuclear deal negotiated by the Obama administration, that “Iran has behaved more provocatively, not less” and asks, “So is maximum pressure working?” She points out that since Trump took office, the Iranians are closer to nuclear weapons capability and follows with a question. “They are spinning more centrifuges. They are stockpiling more enriched uranium. If the plan is to keep Iran from getting a nuclear weapon, how do you do that when they're not abiding by the limits of the old deal and there's no new deal in sight?
The interview becomes more heated when Kelly asks Pompeo if he owed Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch an apology” and states that “the American public wants to know as a shadow foreign policy, as a back channel policy on Ukraine was being developed, did you try to block it?” Pompeo’s reply? “The Ukraine policy has been run from the Department of State for the entire time that I have been here, and our policy was very clear.”
That sounds a lot like a confession by Pompeo, to his part in Trump’s shake down of Ukraine.
ACTION: Contact NPR and thank Mary Louise Kelly for asking the tough questions, for not backing down when Pompeo goes to the default talking points, for doing her job questioning the Trump administration’s weak diplomatic policy in Iran and in exposing Secretary Pompeo with his confession to being a party to Trump’s Ukraine extortion. Also, encourage other NPR reporters and all journalists to return to this kind of critical reporting that has protected American democracy for generations.
